The world-renowned Geneva Summit is organized by a coalition of 25 human rights NGOs with the goal of placing the most pressing human rights situations on the world agenda. The event provides a unique platform for human rights advocates from around the world to create new synergies for action. The Summit will take place right before the June session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, to influence its work. UN Watch, the main organizer of the Summit, is an internationally respected voice at the United Nations defending universal human rights, dissidents, and political prisoners, and a leader in the struggle against racism and antisemitism. UN Watch was founded in 1993, originally in affiliation with the World Jewish Congress, and is a fully independent NGO accredited in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations. We hope that Mr. Navalny will be free soon and able to receive the award and to be interviewed by video in advance. If Mr. Navalny is still in detention and unable to accept the award himself, we would invite a family member (Daria Navalnaya for example) to accept the award on his behalf.
